SANLÚCAR DE BARRAMEDA
NATIONAL PARK OF DOÑANA
The set of these protected ecological reserve is the largest in Europe.Its landscapes are defined by extensive beaches, mobile dunes, marshes, Mediterranean scrub woodland, pinewood and cork trees. Biosphere Reserve from 1980, it extends through the provinces of Cádiz and Sevilla.
Permanent residents and migratory birds, deers, fallow deers and wild boars. Endangered species, as the Iberian lynx, the mongoose or de imperial eagle.
Plants: Stone pine, cork tree, tamarisk, mastic, strawberry tree and rockrose.
Facilities: Information Points: “El Arrayán”, in Hinojos (Huelva), “El Aebuche”, “La Rocina”, “Palacio de El Acebrón”, and the Park office, in Almonte (Huelva). Visitor Center “Bajo de Guía”, in Sanlucar de Barrameda (Cádiz).
Recommended activities: ornithological and botanical tours. Hiking.
